All Federal Benefits to Be Paid Electronically

Source: U.S. Department of the Treasury, Financial Management Service

The U.S. Department of the Treasury soon will pay all federal benefit and nontax payments electronically, ensuring that benefit recipients will receive their money in a safer, more reliable way than paper checks.

Applying for federal benefits on or after May 1, 2011? Be ready to sign up for direct deposit at the time you apply for benefits. You will need to have your Antwerp Exchange Bank checking or savings account number and routing transit number on hand.

Already receiving federal benefit checks? You need to switch to electronic payments by March 1, 2013, but don’t delay! To switch to direct deposit, visit your local Antwerp Exchange Bank branch, go to www.GoDirect.org, or call the U.S. Treasury Processing Center at (800) 333-1795.

If you’re already receiving your benefit payments electronically, you do not need to take action.

To sign up for direct deposit simply click on the Go Direct link above.
